Paperback Book entitled

Bro. 2nd. Lt. Earnest W. Martin

A Sacrifice Remembered

This book was written by Martin Belgrove and can be purchased by clicking on the following link   http://www.lulu.com/content/1520341

This account was inspired by a brief mention in the Orange Banner of the death in action of 2nd Lt Ernest Martin in France during the 1st World War. The account traces the life, service and ultimate sacrifice of this brave individual who like so many gave all in answering their country’s call. The ensuing pages trace some of his early years, his enlistment in the Artists Rifles and subsequent granting of a commission in the 1st Battalion of the Norfolk Regiment. It traces his time in the front line at Ypres and on the Somme including an account of his last action.
